Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

Damnit. Trying to decide if I wanna roll the dice and see if Yusef makes it to swaps (along with Etta) or if I should just bite the bullet and buy it. This was the month I was limiting my vinyl impulse budget so I can get some out of print Analogue Production records I.e. Billie Holidays - Songs For Distingue Lovers. What do I do? Someone be the angel or devil on my shoulder please.

I'm waiting for Yusef to hit swaps, but monitoring stock

I was gonna say that this seemed like the kind of thing VMP would do an exclusive of considering the amount of music publications and labels talking about this, but i didnt post it cause i wasnt sure.

I'd recommend getting the deluxe edition direct from her store since it's only like $2 more and comes with way more stuff. Sheet music, zine, and a bonus 7" with demos.
Also the color is cooler.

The store page Claims that the vmp Version has the sheet Music, too. But i agree about the rest. I´d clearly decide for the Deluxe Version if there weren't 13 more Dollars added for intl shipping plus customs.

The Deluxe is also on Juno so I imagine the shipping to Deutschland will be much cheaper from them
You can't preorder but you can sign up for an email notification for when it is released.
I find these guys are much cheaper to ship to Canada as well so it is likely I will order from them as well

Who am I kidding? Once that direct deposit hits Yusef is getting tina’d. Looks like getting your hands on another OJC version will run you around the same price on Cogs. So if you want this record it seems like a no brainer.
There’s also a Rough Trade variant I believe for those who are no longer VMP members. I love this album and as you said, not many cheaper older versions available and this one is pressed at RTI.

Oi now I need to decide if I want Translucent Blue or VMPs “high melt” splatter.
The description on the Yusef Rough Trade album is for a different album but I'm assuming it's just a wrong description and you won't actually be getting a Gene Ammons record...

Tenor saxophonist Gene Ammons had a huge sound, and a Coleman Hawkins-inspired ability to belt the blues and caress the ballads with equal facility. This 1960 session, part of a lengthy series of recordings Ammons made for Prestige, shows off his strengths impressively. His broad-toned reading of the ballad "My Romance" confirms his reputation as the master interpreter nicknamed "Gentle Jug." The superbly-attuned rhythm section of pianist Tommy Flanagan, bassist Doug Watkins, drummer Arthur Taylor, and congero Ray Barretto offers particularly brilliant support on Eddie Haywood's memorable "Canadian Sunset," the uptempo bop exercise of Charlie Parker's "Confirmation," and the swing classic "(Stomping at the) Savoy."

Rough Trade variant is /500 and VMP is /750, but I think the VMP one looks cooler and if you're already a member, it'll be a little cheaper through VMP since you don't pay shipping.

I read that lol. Wonder how long it will take them to figure it out 😂
