Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

You’d still do better to have a membership. Crate as a yearly subscription makes no sense. They are asking you to go fund me but not putting in the work to set one of those up.
You save a hundred bucks in that scenario. In the membership scenario, you would save 150 dollars and not have to buy 12 of those records.

Here… let’s math it real quick…. We’ll take them at their word that track items will average out to a yearly subscription at ~$46

$1000/46 is basically 22 records

Crate

$1030

Membership

$943

This isn’t even factoring in that a smart person is gonna be using their swaps for the $50/60+ items.

You’re right, there is some astronomical number where it works but I ain’t trying to figure out a calculus problem.

For most people with a budget for their records, crate is robbery.

Some of the changes could theoretically be fine in a glass half full scenario (I.e. okay, less ROTMs so we don’t have to put out unideal ones anymore… fine). They get flexibility and less glut (and don’t have massive GZ bills, etc).

The Crate thing is utterly asinine and undercuts the credibility of the glass half full scenario.

"While we recognize this change may feel big and like a departure from what has made VMP special, our mission to memorialize essential albums and help you build a record collection your friends and family will fight over when you’re dead has only grown stronger."

This is the quote that got me. What the fuck?
Damn right there's gonna be some fightin' if you get curated Sam Hunt, Tennis and Ja Rule. Getting somebody in the fam to clear that mess out willingly is gonna take some strong arm tactics by the executor of the estate.

Nope. He’s been fairly nonexistent since before the holiday anyhow. But, I would expect he didn’t want to deal with the level of heat this would bring. Honestly the fact that it’s always Pauly just shows you the real lack of leadership there anyhow.
No offense to Pauly, but he never exactly struck me as neither a business mind nor someone that should be considered a face of the company. If you trotted out that food service analogy in a board room at any other company you'd be laughed out the room. Food subs aren't exactly thriving right now. Nice guy though.
