You could be right. I do forget that those guys only seem to care about their own triggers.I don't think so? But also the timeline is all blended in my head

But it’s actually less complicated.Call me crazy, but if a business model takes this much effort to explain, maybe it shouldn't be the business model?
They were selling Bandbux for cheap to try to fund their operation a month before they went belly up. ROTM club, then it wasn't, never met shipping deadlines, lot of people on here are owed mulitple records from them. What was the deal with Bandbox?

Ah ok. I missed all that drama. I got some good stuff from them early on and never had any problems. But I suppose I could same the same about VMP.They were selling Bandbux for cheap to try to fund their operation a month before they went belly up. Available on Amazon for $19We Insist! Max Roach's Freedom Now Suite
‘We Insist!’ a towering achievement in jazz, and one that speaks to how even if the times are bleak, we can get through, together. VMP Classics number 93, this is strictly limited to 2k units, and has been remastered AAA by Ryan K. Smith at Sterling Sound.www.vinylmeplease.com
Not a good comparison because that one's probably a wax time or other European bootleg that used the CD as the master and it's unofficial. The pure pleasure one Newman pointed out is probably a better exampleAvailable on Amazon for $19
What I find perplexing is that the first record they put out under the new system ( a would-be classics rotm) is first dropped in store, than comes as a swap option for those with a subscription sometime later( don't know which day swaps open) to be delivered at the end of april at the earliestWe Insist! Also just saw a Pacific NW one that Guerilla Candy and maybe a label/press are starting, first album is The Gits - Frenching The Bully. Musicology Music Club
I love Hammerbox, couple of really good albums and Carrie's voice was always fire.I was going to post about this in the Seattle thread, but maybe others are interested in the Hammerbox 7" that comes with The Gits My friend's label, Latent Print, is the 3rd piece of this.
I actually think you are spot on with this. This is probably more to do with the changes in their model than anything. They couldn't get anything shipped or lined up in time for all the tracks on a consistent monthly basis. So now they just throw what they have when they have it up on the store.Maybe they just realized they couldn't ship the new ROTMs in time so they just said "let's sell it in the store so they don't get bugged that we have to wait 3 months for it"
Grundman cut this for RSD within the last two years or so, I think with Candid. You can get it for like $15, almost sure it was AAA too.Not a good comparison because that one's probably a wax time or other European bootleg that used the CD as the master and it's unofficial. The fact that the first drop is for April makes me think @duke86fan isYou can buy it now or wait until April. Sounds like you won't be able to pick pre-orders.
It’s definitely clearer reasoning than what was communicated in the email. The fact that the first drop is for April makes me think @duke86fan is
In fact, the Candid remaster is available on Amazon for 26. Not a plug for them, just illustrating ripoff prices VMP is sporting for something available elsewhere i.e. why is VMP charging so much...Grundman cut this for RSD within the last two years or so, I think with Candid. FOMO mkt attempt (their only offensive play call) and also they are mired in a pile of repressings that they now cannot afford to extricate from the pressing plants, such as G Dead box, Black Sabbath etc.The email mentioned Max Roach to be limited to 2,000 units. I asked Paul about this and if things were going to be re-pressed again at later dates and he basically said no. I don't think he's the person that could provide the best answer to this question, but he said that old titles being re-pressed was a priority of "the old guard" and that the current team doesn't have that as a priority moving forward.
2,000 seems pretty low for what they're calling a "flagship" title for their catalog. Maybe it's all they can afford, or maybe they're trying to stoke the fomo again and have things sell out to draw interest.
