I’d be very shocked if AP are in swaps. It’s not VMP’s own product and they would actively be losing money if they did that. The only reason why swaps have been Woodstock boxes or other old valuable things is that VMP is actively trying to lower their overhead by letting go of inventory for cheap. Fieldler said so in a recent interview. With all of the uncertainty going on in retail they are looking for ways to lower their costs. It’s cheaper for them to offload Woodstock for $23 than it is to keep it on shelf space in a warehouse for months on end not selling it.

I would be shocked to see individual anthology albums too but perhaps they have some replacement individual albums lying around. If they do that and have some BN albums, I’d go for the Ambrose Akinmusire. It’s never been released on vinyl outside of the box set and is such an awesome album.

How the heck did they get Jaki Byard to fit with the 1974 clue? Timmons could fit if the 1974 is death year, but I think that'd be surprising if two clues were death centric as opposed to it being album year.

I think Byard is the wishful thinking one haha. I haven’t followed all of the clues. I’ll be pretty bummed if it’s Gardner though...first time I’m skipping Classics in a very long time.

I recently re-joined after a long hiatus...is there any advantage/logic to adding a track before announcement, or just as well to wait until after?

Yes. I’d add them now anyway. You can always cancel it within the next few days. Certain tracks like classics often sell out so you cannot add it later if you see multiple things you want in swaps. If I want 2-3 swaps, then I keep the tracks otherwise I cancel right away to let others add it.

If you definitely have FOMO, then definitely grab the “swap exclusives” in the Swaptions! But definitely grab it if you like the genre the record is in! No point of grabbing a hip-hop VMP exclusive if you don’t enjoy rap/hip-hop, nah mean!? 😜👉🤛

Because you have so many options as you don’t have much VMP exclusives, you will be spoilt. Though I do know what you mean! We’ve all grabbed an exclusive that has stayed in store for a long time and wished we grabbed the other exclusive instead (which sold out). I can and others on here can too, with giving you an idea on which albums would be close to selling out, and which albums will likely stay in store for a long time! 💡👨‍💻👩‍💻☺

But yes, grab any Anthology exclusive, even if it’s just a single record as the vinyl pressings sound amazing for them! And grab any Classics ROTM that happens to appear in the Swaptions (that previously sold out in the VMP Store!). 🏃‍♂️💨

For sure on the genres and buying music I'm interested in. I may have fomo'd into a few purchases from the pre-order thread but they're all ones I had a quick listen to and determined I'd like to hear the whole record for. The only exception being Fiona Apple who I have a rather hit and miss relationship with but respect as an artist and know it's likely I'll by in sync with the mood and energy at a future point. Honestly rap/hip-hop and ambient/down-tempo/lo-fi electronic music have been the most consistent genres I've liked in my life to date. So when I say the Denzel records sounds like a hot pick I mean it, y'get me 😜🤜

Will do (y) thank you for the tips and what to keep eyes out for. Interested to know what the Classics pick is this week but even outside of that I should have two swaps open for the Essentials (I like Stevie but there's likely to be others I want in the collection first) and Salt N' Pepa. I figured the additional tracks were worthwhile investing in at a time when I'm still buying records to build up a mini collection and am missing a lot of the standout 🔥 albums and artists.

Just under 6hrs to go 🙈🤞

One of the biggest reasons is that it would require a landing page for those and it would cheapen the Anthology line which they clearly think is a premium product. My best guess is that you see a few things that had otherwise been out of stock, perhaps a few more Woodstocks, and perhaps a few of the 3rd party items listed in the store.

If an Anthology is up for swaps no one will buy an Anthology at full price again. Possibility of individual records perhaps. But I love how some people are totally letting their imagination run away with them. Maybe they’ll have Blonde by Frank Ocean instead

We had people on here thinking that the Zamrock anthology will be a swaption hah. We are likely to see more Woodstock boxes and whatever other shit that VMP hasn't been able to sell at their marked up prices. Maybe swap for an anorak and a VMP dog collar?

Come on, you know its the Channel Orange exclusive that they've teased in the past. And I heard it's going to be the exclusive for When The Pawn... as well.

I know what two of the swaps will be.

I've gotten informed delivery for everything else, so I'd be surprised if it showed up. Finally sent VMP a message today.

Maybe it's just because I'm in NYC but nearly everything on my ID has shown up days late or unannounced in the past 4 weeks or so. The only tracking I got from VMP was for a my Jolene/Dolly sale purchase and my ROTMs were in there too.
