  • My official ranking of the 16 varities of Oreos I tried on Sunday at the Oreo Potluck, from best to worst: Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie, classic Oreo, Java Chip, Carrot Cake, Peanut Butter, Double Stuf, Golden Double Stuf, Mint, Caramel Coconut, Salted Caramel, Chocolate Marshmallow, Dark Chocolate, Birthday Cake, Chocolate Hazelnut, Team USA, Mega Stuf.

@Ericj32 I thought they were surprisingly decent! Obviously Oreo creme isn't as smooth and decadent as Nutella, but the flavor felt recognizable.

@kvetcha I just had another one (guess how many leftovers I took home, haha), and yeah, they just don’t work for me. I think if I bought a pack of them out of curiosity, they’d be good enough that I could force myself to finish them, but after trying so many other flavors, they wouldn’t be in my top ten choices.

If anything, I actually think I was probably too harsh on chocolate marshmallow initially. Firstly, because the cream filling on them is this disgusting greyish color and secondly, because the bits of marshmallow that are in the cookies were actually kind of hard and got stuck in my teeth. So they were a letdown, but they do actually taste pretty good.
Is there an Oreo thread? There are so many varieties now. Does anyone have an Oreo ranking of their favorite kinds? Was discussing this with my friends and we’re having an Oreo potluck this weekend to get to the bottom of it.
Does anyone remember a commercial from years ago (late 90s maybe) about an anti-itch cream (lanacane, neosporin, etc. - something like that) where there’s a woman who warns repeatedly that “you could be scratching to infection”? Spent the past hour or so watching old commercials trying to track it down haha. The closest I’ve found so far was an add called Caldecort, but i’m pretty sure that’s not it.
    Happy Birthday!

May your day be full of

Nurk had another great game. Melo got fired up. I just don’t know what the plan is with Powell and Covington (especially Covington).

Here's another problem I saw: eleven-man rotation. With only a few weeks left in the regular season.

    A sign of desperation.
Focusing on the fact that Nurkic his best game of the season last night. But I AM starting to seriously believe that we are cursed in some dark, ancient, mysterious way.
Today isn’t the first day that I’ve had a s’more pop tart, but it’s the first day that I’ve really appreciated how well they actually approximate the taste and texture of a s’more. The slightly burnt edges of the graham cracker. The marshmallow filling that actually has a marshmallow-y texture.

And you can eat them without building a fire and getting sticky marshmallow all over your hands and face.
Is anyone else watching the Decemberists' 20th anniversary streaming concerts? First show (of 3) is tonight! Haven't seen the full band live since the Bite of Oregon in 2005 in Waterfront Park. Really looking forward to this as they always seem to miss me when they tour.

After. It seemed like they were scrambling to figure out the workaround for the VIP session since the zoom didn't work so they just ended up like showing us the zoom call that all the band members and the moderator from KEXP were on, so we could watch it and chat on the mandolin site. They just took breaks throughout the chat to show the recordings of each of the songs.

The recordings of both the VIP sessions and the shows will be available for rewatch until 4/25 - so you could probably still sign up for the VIP if you want to see it. The songs weren't very long, but the whole VIP session (including the songs) ran for just over an hour. They discussed their pandemic experiences, playing zoom board games and D&D, and answered questions about their music.

Awesome!! I sprung for the VIP experience on their last tour and got to go in before the show for a couple of songs and a Q&A session, so that’s why I didn’t do VIP this time around. I kept looking at the set list in front of Colin and wondering if they were going to do an encore, but it looks like the last 3 songs were for the VIP.
Is anyone else doing the Joseph streaming shows? It was so fun tonight. I didn't realize the band members were in the group chat with us until like the third song haha.
Massive Attack tonight. Cat Power tomorrow night. So excited. 😁

The only time I've seen her was at Bonnaroo in 2013, just after "Sun" came out, and yeah, she was fantastic. I'm really liking "Wanderer," too. Hoping she performs "Maybe Not" tomorrow night.

I saw her at a small club right after The Greatest dropped. She was great but super meek. Started songs over a couple times and apologized after nearly every song. The crowd was super quiet throughout almost afraid if we made too much noise we’d spook her.

I like the fact that she was able to poke fun at herself with this video circa "Sun".
