  • Chloe x Halle isn’t on vinyl, right? Cause I looked for it and I couldn’t find it. If I’m mistaken, hook me up with knowledge!
Quick little PSA for those in COVID hotspots: don’t smoke out of a shared bong in the middle of a pandemic.

I think I have identified my (relative) lack of enthusiasm for some of the more acclaimed artists: I hardly ever pay any attention to lyrics. I'm thinking I'd like Punisher more if I did. But it's so hard to focus!

Funny, I find that Phoebe's lyrics are hard to ignore or overlook. Certain lines just jump out at me in each song of hers. She has an incredible knack for coming up with these casual sounding observations and building powerful songs off of them.

it’s more that I just don’t usually hear the lyrics to anything unless I really pay close attention (or there’s a loud, repetitive chorus). I appreciate quality lyrics when I do hear them, but it’s hard for me because I usually like listening to music while I do other stuff.

Interesting take. I personally noticed that i place vocals and lyrics as the most important thing in a song for me, hence why I really struggle with genres that are fully instrumental like jazz
I want “Don’t Shoot Me I’m Only the Piano Player” because I can’t get Crocodile Rock out of my head after watching an episode of Killing Eve. My brain works weird
It's a little early, but I THINK I have my July albums already picked out! (1) N&G's selection ~ Richter's Four Seasons (2) Prince Paul ~ A Prince Among Thieves (VMP) (3) Ramones ~ s/t (4) Stevie Wonder ~ Songs in the Key of Life (5) Judas Priest ~ Sad Wings of Destiny and (6) RTJ4 preorder....Now I just need to find $$$....And a decent copy of Rush 2112 (and more $$$).
The Preorder of the Target exclusive version of Selena’s 1s is already sold out. Neat.

wow, that didn't take long. But it could be like Taylor Swifts Lover. It sold out, only to be available again the next day.
It looks like there is gonna be a half-speed remasters release of a few Rolling Stones albums. I haven't gotten Exile on Main St. yet. Maybe it's time!
    That new RTJ is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💵💵💵💵💵🔥💵🔥💵🔥💵🔥💵🔥💵💵😮🌋🌋🌋🌋🌋💵🚀🍄🤯🤯🤯🤯
Ok, I went a little vinyl-mad with the year 1975. But I am now the proud owner of (1) Parliament - Mothership Connection (2) Springsteen - Born to Run (3) Patti Smith - Horses (4) Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here and (5) Willie Nelson - Red Headed Stranger. The 1970s collection progresses!
It’s taking for freaking EVER but the exploration of 2017 music has been a fun journey so far. Biggest surprise? Kesha! I was not prepared for the variety of Rainbow!
I couldn’t get into Butterfly or Maad City, but goodness, I really really like Damn.

DAMN. is still my favorite of his so far. I think all of his albums are incredible but that one specifically sticks out to me as being a masterpiece, even though everyone says TPAB is his greatest work (rightfully so, of course, it's amazing too)

    i dont get DAMN.

i undertand the appeal... but it feels more like a mixtape than an album

I have a soft spot for TPAB because it features so many of my favorite musicians and genres either as collaborators or inspiration. DAMN is a close 2nd to me.
Ok, so I haven’t spent much time with Bjork’s music. My limited knowledge consists of hazy memories of strange MTV videos. I’m listening to Post now. I feel like a significant portion of my life has been wasted by my not listening to it sooner.
Damn, I am having a hard time keeping up with new releases (and the thread re same), listening to the best albums of the 70s (my own project), checking out the N&G AoTMs (and their offshoots), and participating in Woob’s best album of the year thread. It’s never a dull moment on this forum!
I don’t know anything about electronic music, but I am enjoying Beatrice Dillon’s Workaround quite a bit!!

personally i didn't really like it... it just didn't click at ALL for me.. agree to disagree
I was enjoying the JBQX but then my app crashed thrice. It made me sad. But then I thought maybe it’s my phone’s way of telling me to go to sleep because it loves me. And now I’m happy again!
