On a whim, I looked up Bob Dylan ~Christmas in the Heart on Discogs. I think $150 is a little more than I'm willing to spend on something to torture my family with.
Was surprised that we had no "Squid Games" halloween costumes at the door last night. Given the hype, I was expecting it to be the costume of the season. Kids mostly stayed with the classics. Skeletons, Witches, Dinosaurs, Princesses, Half-Assed Teenage Costumes, etc.
I'll admit that Steve Burns video of him finally addressing his abrupt exit from Blue's Clues made me a little misty. My 24 year old daughter and I still do the Mail song when I drop off her mail. That being said, it also reminds me that he didn't go to college, but hung out with the Flaming Lips and released an excellent album - Songs for Dustmites - and even did a small tour that I went to see.
Kids are back in school (except for the one who graduated college w/ a theater tech degree in the middle of a pandemic!), wife is back teaching in the classroom. Working from home, so its time to wake up from the vinyl hibernation and start spinning again.
Happy 30th to Ten, and 25th to No Code - both released on this day! In it's honor Pearl Jam will be streaming the 2014 Moline, IL show where they played No Code in full all weekend starting at 5pm pst. https://www.youtube.com/c/pearljam/videos
Happy St. Patricks Day! It's a good day to revisit this performance from the Dubliners & The Pogues. The comments on the video are almost as enjoyable as the song itself.
Volunteered at a vaccination station today, and got a Pfizer shot for helping out. Got home, and my copy of Way Down in the Rust Bucket was waiting. Good day all around.
Happy 60th birthday to Wayne Coyne! Last time I saw him he was riding a glowing unicorn through a crowd. I'd like to think he's spending his birthday riding that unicorn!
Hi Everyone, and welcome to the January challenge thread! The title comes to us from the beginning of Neil Young & Crazy Horses Year of the Horse album, where a heckler yells out “They all sound the same” and Neil responds “It’s all one song!”. In that vein and given that he’s one of my...
This Jason Isbell show from Shoals Fest last year is well worth the $10 and helping calm my nerves. Some amazing covers via a musical history of the Shoals.
Watching Comic-Con@Home. Thundercat is on the panel for the new Thundercats show talking about his early years and his obsession w/ the show. His portion starts about 9 minutes in and includes a song he wrote for the show.
I need to ship about 120 records cross country. Is USPS media mail the most cost effective way to do that? My dad got a bunch from a neighbor of his having a garage sale and wants to send them to me. Some good stuff from what I can tell. Grateful Dead, Smiths, Dylan, more...
