I first saw them opening for Matthew Sweet, supporting their debut album; really liked it

Though I was excited when Pain came out, bought it that first week, it was disappointing in comparison - there's still some of the power pop, but way too much smoothed-out alternative rock and standard FM radio pop. It still caught me off-guard when they blew up.

This old set of Willie songs has been issued a few times over, like the early Sun stuff. I think it must be cheap to lease the material. This label is like the Goldenlane label, now a subdivision of Cleopatra Records, who itself has done reissues that have low/no cost cover art, minimal liners, packaging, remastering, etc. These are not high end reissues. Somewhere, there are people who own a lot of these pre 1970s music catalogs and demos and just keep re-leasing them to various labels for a limited release run.
That upcoming MOV Willie was recently released on VMP so it too is probably being leased around to various labels.
