I've never understood the idea of VMP's that people should pay more per LP for a 6-8 LP box set than individually. Blue Note made some sense, but the follow ups have made less and less. I would have been all over this box at $150, which is what it should have retailed at.

I’m a sucker for box sets. And count me for one who really enjoys the podcasts. I don’t mind paying a big extra for the box and “experience”

Anybody recommend a single Zamrock album I can pick up now? I know Now Again has the compilation. I don’t usually like comps but maybe that’s the one I should pick up.

Highly recommend both of those too. Also the Harry Mwale Experience and the Keith Mlevhu but both are a little on the spendier side of things now.

Since I suddenly have free time, going through the Women of Motown Anthology again. Couple duds in there but the Badu album is REALLY good. Biggest "surprise" like of mine in the set.

What are your duds? For me it was Tata Vega and Teena Marie. Syreeta was my surprise hit.

Same. Box got off to a nice start. Syreeta was cool and I had never heard it. Sort of a Stevie Wonder vibe. Then suffered through Tata and Teen. Badu saved it

Enjoyed this, thanks for posting! I knew next to nothing (ok, actually nothing) about Zamrock. It's close to my interest zone but I wasn't able to pull the trigger on this.

Is there anyone else who is super excited like me to receive this Zamrock box set?
It will be my first VMP Anthology set and I can't wait to receive this. I passed on the previous box sets because I don't see myself spinning the other box sets often. I think this box set will get lots of spins.

I REALLY WANT THIS ANTHOLOGY!!!

But I don’t know if I want to spend so much money right now, plus the Australian Dollar to US Dollar isn’t in my favour

I agree pretty excited about the Zamrock box. I got the Blue Note box and now that I have reduced my expectations for the extra-curricular material for the this one I am looking forward to it.

Also very excited about the Herbie box.
