The Ottawa Senators have signed veteran forward Derick Brassard to a one-year contract, the team announced Monday.

Financial terms of the contract weren't disclosed, but Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli reports the pact is worth $750,000.

Brassard joined the Senators earlier this offseason on a professional tryout. His new deal was revealed to teammates during Monday's practice.

Brassard split last season between the Philadelphia Flyers and Edmonton Oilers, recording 19 points in 46 games while averaging 12:55 of ice time per contest.

The 35-year-old spent parts of two seasons with the Senators from 2016-2018, and has suited up for 10 franchises in his 15-year career.

Brassard was drafted sixth overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2006.
