Should be the other way around. You can only buy gear when your team sucks. Get rid of the loudmouth bandwagon fans that only watch when the team gets to the playoffs. Force them to earn it.

edit: i just realized you’re saying the same thing as I am. It’s time… let fill our wardrobe!

That’s what I’m saying. Let the bandwaggonners float the boat on sunny days.

Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Zach Werenski is expected to miss the remainder of the 2022-23 campaign after suffering a separated shoulder and a torn labrum Thursday against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Werenski failed to connect on a hit with Travis Konecny and crashed hard into the boards in the first period.

Fellow defensemen Nick Blankenburg and Erik Gudbranson also got hurt Thursday. Blankenburg is out six-to-eight weeks with a fractured ankle and a high ankle sprain, while Gudbranson is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

With Adam Boqvist still expected to miss another four weeks with a foot injury, Columbus is paper thin on defense. Here's the team's projected depth chart.

Bayreuther, Jiricek, and Bjork were recalled from the AHL in corresponding moves.

Werenski recorded three goals and five assists in 13 games this season while averaging a team-high 23:26. He logged just 6:03 of ice time Thursday. The 25-year-old is signed through 2027-28 with a $9.58-million cap hit.

Blankenburg, 24, tallied three points in seven appearances this season while averaging 18:02 per game.

Least Columbus has an excuse of why they are terrible. Preds got no injuries other than Boro and they are god awful. Their wins have come against Calgary, San Jose (2), St Louis and Vancouver. Not exactly the top teams in the NHL. Jusse can't stop a beach ball at the moment but I blame John Hynes and David Poile for everything. David Poile will be general manager in Nashville till he dies I'm afraid. Praying that we go winless on this long homestand. Tank for Bedard.

I’m sure my occasional pessimism is annoying, but I’d really like to see Sid win one more before he retires. Management keeps saying the window is still open but I’m not so sure. I know it’s a long season and this team is older and their inconsistency is maddening and maybe that’s because of the coaching.

By the way, I’ve really enjoyed Joseph’s play before the injury. He had a rough few games but I’m glad he’s stayed up.
