i play the bee but i don't pay for it so it cuts me off after a few words, sometimes just one if it's a bad letter mix and one pangram. i'm more interested in just getting the pangram anyway.

i do the mini competitively. lowest time i've ever finished that is 14 seconds. i don't get the paper anymore so don't get to do the regular crossword very often, but i just can't bring myself to buy the games sub, i've got enough things on my phone distracting me already.

i refuse to type a word in until i get the pangram. 9/10 i get it immediately (watching a ton of wheel of fortune as a kid has really paved the way for my success with the crossword, and probably this) - and the times i don’t, i just start shuffling the letters til i’m so frustrated i just punch all the 4-ltr words.

also that is a sick mini time. i used to do them daily also, i got really good at it. i was about to say i think my best time was 16 or something, and i randomly checked april 16, 2021 (apparently i haven’t done any since 2021) and my time was 12 seconds, and i’m very intimidated. cause i don’t know if i can do that again.

my kingdom for stats the way they give you stats for the daily crosswords. i pay for the games but because it’s $3 a month. i want to start doing the crosswords again. but having always done them with a former partner, it’s sucky to do them alone. haven’t done any since november. i know i’m dumber than i was then.

edit: trying to find my best big-mini time (7x7), and i think it was high 30s, but mostly i was just stoked if i got under 50.
