Equipment Recommendations - The Home For New System and Upgrade Advice

Does anyone have a suggestion for a good media console manufacturer? I'm not looking to break the bank, prefer not crazy expensive. I'm looking at Norstone? They seem reasonable. Anybody have one they particularly like? I'm looking for something in this general size and shape something tall rather than long. I need more space on the sides for speakers...

Norstone Bamboo is nicer looking than their standard offerings, IMHO. Good reputation too, as far as I am aware. Not inexpensive, but certainly not HRS either.

I still rather like Salamnder's Archetype series, largely because you can customize the heck out of it. As someone who bought the black finish years ago, I can say with certainty that I f'ed that up and should have gotten one of the woodgrains instead. Not sure what the tariffs have done to their pricing.

Thanks I'll check those out. Yeah I'm by no means in love with the look of the glass Norstone stuff. But I'm trying SO VERY HARD to be responsible and not spend an arm and a leg on some shit hot rack. I'm trying to make it as low profile as possible because there's a lot going on in that room and I prefer the focus to not be on the stand, so it's probably the ONLY time I can deal with a basic black stand that's functional. Biggest hit against that one I posted is the middle support will mean I can't put my centre there. So I'll have to figure that out. They have other options though.

Housing the centre may prove problematic. Manufacturers seem to be designing around the soundbar now.

Okay, I said that, but this Norstone rack is reasonably compact and open-shelved. Would depend on the size of your centre, though.

Yeah thats one I had listed as a possibility. But also I see that my local out here Trutone has the Salamander too. I'll check these all out...

The floors in my new apartment are quite springy and I’m dealing with my stylus skipping with heavy footfalls and when my Rottweiler mix shakes himself off in the area in front of the record player.

What options should I look into to isolate my TT from these factors? Would a Zazen be good for it?

@Mnpctech how does your isolation deck/feet do against stuff like this?
I will admit that while I have Zazens under all my stuff, nothing fixed that issue at my place until I got the monster VPI Classic Sig. and it's giant upgraded isofeet. I think @Mnpctech would actually be a better bet than IsoAcoustics stuff for this issue.

Wall mounting would be the best and lowest cost option. Shy of that, can you place it on something very heavy (marble for example), and then isolation like the ZaZen?
