Not too far off from Wolf Parade's album cover...

On that note, here are a couple canadian albums from 2024 that I enjoyed:

The Outfit "Too Hot To Sleep" (Daniel Romano's punk band)

Dan Boeckner "Boeckner!" (of Wolf Parade, Handsome Furs, Divine Fits - first solo project, sounds glammy just like it should)

Masta Ace & Marco Polo "Richmond Hill"

Oh and another that's been super fun is Rich Aucoin's synthetic project. He got access to vintage synths from different museums and recorded some great tracks with them. 3 volumes are out so far, and a 4th to complete the series is forthcoming.

So new Destroyer record was released on Friday. Full disclosure, I'm a sucker for everything he does, so I'm usually sold ahead of time.

So no surprise, I'm enjoying this new album. Few observations: the cover art calls back the art used for Kaputt. Very similar layout with the white border around the photo and the title 2/3 upper center, seats on the same line at the lower 3rd. Similarities in sound too? I do hear it at times, especially on the opener, and the saxophone on Cataract Time.

And here I am spinning it...
