Definitive Audiophile pressings

Even Sterling seems to have trouble getting tapes now. Probably because MoFi is picking up production and doing more titles. From what VMP said, other labels are sometimes able to get Sony titles if an artist specifically requests having someone cut titles.

I'd say profile fits into it as well. The lower profile or less American the artist I’d say the easier it is to get those tapes out.

Maybe. I think vinyl sales are unpredictable these days. People want different that hasn't been reissued recently, which can be a hard spot to pinpoint.

Even rare Miles Davis cuts don't move the needle lately. Maybe jazz has just hit the flood zone altogether.
Yep. For instance, totally waited on RSD titles this year. Streaming the Resonance Freddie Hubbard title. It’s an awesome set for sure. SQ is okay for live jazz. Matt L did a great job with the master. Do I need to spend $75 on it? Will the triple disc get a lot of burn here? Nah. Maybe I’ll opt for the CD at some point for the liners.

Yeah this hit me really hard yesterday as I was streaming.
I think it's going to help me pump the brakes and really start to be more selective going forward.
Now that Fomo is gone (for the most part) and you can really take some time before deciding on a purchase, it's a really nice change for me.

Plus I want to buy a nice tape or two this year and it's got to come out of the vinyl spend to work out.
