Yeah I was actually wondering about that in the future. Whether it's something that would work with the solid state...Or try a small tube amp for the horns. Let the SS power handle everything below 650Hz.

It's how I setup the JBLs.Yeah I was actually wondering about that in the future. Whether it's something that would work with the solid state...
Either way it'll be fun to potentially play with down the road. It's how I setup the JBLs.
Key is to get the amp gain on both reasonably close.
Likely have to have a preamp with two outs also.
(Sorry this rabbit holeleads to separates.
)
Yeah it's always good to have the options available.Either way it'll be fun to potentially play with down the road.
That’s the boss move. This is why I went bi-amp to get sound with best of both worlds.
Plus the increased headroom is killer.
Aw, shucks. I’m just a geek who has been reading audio technical articles for far too long. You're smart.
One day I'd like to be smart like this too.
I am not holding out hope.
I've never tried mono blocks but this works pretty well as an alternative approach. That’s the boss move.
Just get a set of McIntosh MC451’s, hybrid tube/ss mono’s with perfect gain matching from the factory. Only $14k USD per side.Yeah I was actually wondering about that in the future. Whether it's something that would work with the solid state...
Oh great, now I know THESE exist.Just get a set of McIntosh MC451’s, hybrid tube/ss mono’s with perfect gain matching from the factory. Only $14k USD per side.
I bet they’d look and sound great on some HRS racks too.Oh great, now I know THESE exist.
Oh goddammit.I bet they’d look and sound great on some HRS racks too.
Those preview windows are wicked.Just get a set of McIntosh MC451’s, hybrid tube/ss mono’s with perfect gain matching from the factory. Only $14k USD per side.
I didn’t notice a difference and preferred keeping them on.@kvetcha or anyone who has an opinion, you guys notice any audible difference with the Fortes with grilles on or off? I think from what I've read there really isn't one, I know with my L100s there's a huge difference between on and off.
dittoI didn’t notice a difference and preferred keeping them on.
I've always used them on carpet, so I've got nothing for you here.Have any of you guys played around with isolation feet or platforms or Herbies iso pucks with the big Klipsch models? The little tiny rubber bumpers they provide with the speakers are laughably small and don't even stick to the metal disc feet. I've got them on but it's nigh on impossible to adjust them without the dumb rubber feet falling off with every tiny move. I've looked around but don't really see anything regarding whether Klipsch advises against anything like this. Main reason I ask is my basement floor is floating vinyl plank over floating DriCore over concrete. So there's a fair bit of movement in the floor despite the solid slab underneath.
Yeah I might just try to do some Herbies as they're WAY cheaper than isopucksI've always used them on carpet, so I've got nothing for you here.
People do seem to do it, though. Worth a go.
