My little Laiv Harmony uDAC that I ordered on Thursday shipped yesterday! I thought I might be a while without digital but given it’s on the super speed Asian FedEx I might be back up and running again with my CDs very soon!

That was fast. Was it from Vinshine in Singapore? If so that’s similar to what I remember when I ordered my Denafrips stuff.

I ordered it direct from Laiv but I think vineshine are involved with them so it’s pearly all from the same place in the end.

Thanks, it does, I may add the uDDC to the mix when I get an eversolo/fiio later in the year!

my NUC with rooncore has run out of harddrive space...anybody have experience changing HDs out but keeping your Roon library in tact? I need to do some more research on it (new SSD isn't here until next week)…not sure if the best way is to buy a cheap enclosure for the old SSD, then swapping the drives in the NUC, installing root core on the new one then copying all the music over to the new rooncore?

It might be easier to get a USB hard drive and just connect it to the core to extend the storage.

Yeah it will appear as a new network drive on your rock to dump the music into and just add it to roon then.

hmm but will all my metadata changes be lost if i move all my DSD files from the NUC to an external drive?

You don’t need to move anything do you?Leave the files you have on the NUC hd on it. Put new files on the new external drive. Have both added as drives in roon.

I don't technically need to....but the OCD side of me will want to reorganize it. Right now I have subfolders for DSD, FLAC and MP3 to keep things easily organized...I'd probably want to move the DSD to the new drive completely as I've been amassing a lot of DSD files...

I still don’t think it should he an issue, the metadata is sitting on top of the files in a separate library file so I’d imagine it should just carry. Your OCD is triggering my OCD which wants to scream about you being a monster foe a ranting them by file type rather than artist

Well, they are organized by artist....but file formats as well hah. One day, I might go back and reorganize it to be sorted by artist.

My music library is on a 2TB external drive. I have another drive as a backup. It’s connected via USB to my Mac Mini.

Roon will reindex your files if you move them around. I would move all the files onto a single drive and then have another drive for backup bs spreading them out over multiple drives.
