Game of Thrones

I thought it was better than I was expecting. Didn’t think Jon was going to do it. Didn’t expect the Bran outcome at all. Didn’t think Jon was going to pet Ghost 😱

I think the majority of dislike for it was that it’s too perfect of an ending. Not that it was perfect, but that it wraps everything up nicely so there’s no lingering questions. It’s the series finale, there’s going to be closure whether it’s what the audience wants or not.

I thought that was a good, but not great way to end a very complicated show. TBH I’ve actually enjoyed this season and last season. Obviously they were a bit style over substance, but at the midpoint of the show I felt it was all talk and no plot, so I felt the speed up was a welcome change. My s/o and aI both got LoTR vibes from the scene at the docks, which is where I was a bit surprised. Everything fell very neatly into place for a show that reveled in the messy.

I do feel there was a bit of a rushed aspect to killing off the only character who didn’t get a neat ending — Dany. The last episode kind of set this one up to make a commentary on the concept of “just war” via her story and this script just seemed like it got her out of the way quickly to make room for the ending montage.

Bran makes the most sense as a “happy” ending I guess but I’m still low key hoping the peasants stage a violent communist uprising against the oppressor class!

It's just still so wild to me that HBO gave them free reign to do *as much* as they wanted, *however* they wanted, and they decided to do it this way. But I'm glad my Stark children came out on top.

I will be greatly surprised if HBO ever allows people to have this much control after how terrible GOT ended up being.

You can see why the 2 talentless muppets quickly signed onto the star wars project because they knew no one would let em touch anything after this show ended.

Now we have to hope disney do some quality control on them (or fire them) otherwise that project will be as witty as soggy bread
