My power came back last night at around 9:30, our downtown area is still dark though. We took a drive last night and saw a lot more of the damage, it's crazy. 30 foot pine trees sheered at the top third, maples uprooted, I'm still stunned. Metro airport recorded a 79 mph max gust, I'm sure we endured something similar.
Spoke too soon. Lost power at 3 am right after the second round of storms. My neighborhood is trashed, trees down everywhere. We made the news, yay. Huuuuge tree two doors down fell, it was a horrifying sound.
I just had four Modest Mouse tix in my cart, saw that it was over $1000 for the four and chickened out.
Leaving for Yellowstone tomorrow! A short Friday night drive, then two tens and we are in Cooke City.
I've spent the last two beautiful summer evenings on our patio, grilling, sipping drinks and streaming the Tortoise catalog. Holy shit, so great. Better late than never I guess.
