Insane release day status #2: I enjoy Flower Boy and Igor, but I've been looking forward to Tyler really rapping again, and this project is that and then some. Dude goes absolutely fucking nuts on this thing, just hit after hit. Feels so good to hear him just go in with his current level of artistic maturity. Maybe my new AOTY.
Insane release day status #1: Some purists may hate it, but this Modest Mouse album is great, actually. My expectations were optimistic, but tempered, and I was really pleasantly surprised. Easily their most consistent and enjoyable since Good News.
Modest Mouse, Lucy Dacus, Faye Webster, Cautious Clay, Lightning Bug, Darkthrone, and now officially Tyler the Creator all dropping records next Friday, absolute insanity.
Steadily making my way through the Nick Cave albums I haven't heard yet. Latest was Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! Absolutely bananas how this man has refused to miss for several decades.
New project from Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Tom Skinner & Nigel Goodrich. Was just talking last night about how we're due for a Radiohead album, but intrigued about this:
Beautifully sad and fantastically written
But expect to cry for hours
