Follow-up to my last status: The man killed by the LMPD last night was not even a protestor. He was a black business owner and cook at a local BBQ joint. He's still lying in the street. His grieving family was met with police in riot gear.
A protestor was killed by the National Guard (edit: potentially LMPD too) in Louisville last night. This is entirely on the hands of Mayor Greg Fischer. He has refused to address demonstrators' requests and has instead opted for stamping out resistance with force. He has to go.
LMPD enthusiastically fired rubber bullets at a local newscaster on live tv tonight. If you're out protesting this weekend, look out for one another. Pigs itching to start shit.
Revisiting a lot of albums in recent weeks - since getting wireless earbuds, I'm able to listen a lot more at work - but one of the revisits I've most enjoyed is Alligator by the National. Didn't realize what a perfect early Summer album this is.
Ka's new album "Descendants of Cain" is now available on streaming services and I STRONGLY recommend everyone check it out. Ka is easily one of the most underrated and underappreciated hip hop artists out there.
This is absolutely purposeful mental/emotional/spiritual abuse of that man's family.
