It brings me peace that, even in these divisive times, at least we can all agree that "Whenever, Wherever" is the greatest song of all time.
My 3yo is warming up to Rush. We were listening to Power Windows yesterday and asked me about the song that was playing. I told him "Mystic Rhythms" and he said he liked it. No, you are mistaken, I did not tear up then nor am I tearing up now.
I was not his biggest fan, but damn he was one of the best. Sad news.
Picked up a cheap ($8, VG/G+ media, water-damaged cover) Mono copy of Monk's Dream in Detroit yesterday to replace the WaxTime copy I bought a few years ago when I was just getting into jazz. I have a low-end system but even so have no words to describe how different (better!) it sounds. It felt like I was hearing the record for the very first time.
Air drumming is fun and all... but doing it to Rush songs just makes you feel inept. SIGH
Ugh. This is upsetting. Time to spin some Rush.
I seem to remember a couple of folks were still looking for the Brubeck Classics album. I bought a cheap 1970s copy yesterday so I’d be happy to part ways with my VMP copy for cost + shipping. @Delta Don was it you?

Hmm yeah 2019 may be the year I finally buy a Sturgill Simpson album. That new track is rad and the anime accompaniment looks very intriguing (no way I’m dropping > $30 for an overpriced variant, though). -
