  • one thing i actually forgot to mention while the confessions vinyl was coming out was that in my dads church career he actually had a connection to usher. one of the other people of the church saw him and referred to him as "mr usher" not realizing
im honestly scared about everything, it all feels doomed and destined to end in intense violence or a fascist state...i dont know what to even do

I'm all for resolving things peacefully whenever possible, but honestly I think that ship has sailed. Trying to beat fascism through voting or peaceful protest isn't realistic anymore. We've tried that and things have only gotten worse. Real change is what we need, however it may happen.

i understand and promote many of the protests...

just twitter has been aggressive with showing me people literally asking for guillotine which honestly scares me as someone who is a pacifist

honestly.. i knew the song from the very beginning... but i just forgot the name... it was not until right after i skipped the 3rd time i realized
i feel bad for originally saying negative stuff about aquemini because when i did first listen to it i was going through the rap music flowchart and it was right after good kid maad city... i just wanted something as anthemic and powerful as m.A.A.d city and aquemini was never that heavy

(the more abridged version... i knew i liked GKMC because of how intense and personal it was and specifically songs like m.A.A.d city and stuff.. so i went to aquemini and i didn't get the sound i expected..)

    @Lee Newman the unabridged chart...

basically i need a good recommendation system (RYM is helping with that)
there is a frustrating thing happening where i remember a song.. one i liked, that but im only really remembering one vocal line (not even the lyrics, just the vocal performance)... so despite wanting to hear it again i literally dont know what it was or where to find it (its... a fun experience.. i know it was a rap song and it had one semi distorted moment of someone saying something like "voila")

IT WAS THE OUTRO OF MFTR BY PUSHA T.. it wasn't voila but why not bt it had the same vocal style as that.. i had the hunch it was pusha but pusha never did that sing song style...

So what's going to be the new topster site.. not run by someone who should be in therapy instead of online

As an aside, if a reviewer thinks it's a 7.6 that's fine - I'm more prone to agree the knee jerk 10/10s were more questionable (even though I think over time esteem on this one will grow), I just like to bash Pitchfork a bit (or a lot).

To be fair, most music this year is a 7 (imo). There hasn't been many blow your socks off albums, despite there being a lot of stuff released.

I think this year has been stacked with really amazing albums. I have a running list of things I love throughout the year and I'm at something like 25 albums already.
i kinda wonder if i should get a speaker setup.. i dont have a lot of room (they might be forced onto the floor).. but my family say they dont hear much of the the noise.. it probably will help me listen to more vinyl compared to these headphones which are more... limiting
honestly i will be shocked if die hard isn't released as a single.. it feels like it was made intentionally to be a hit
one of the few statements i'll make about kendrick before i've given it a few more listens to get all the details...

if this was from a worse rapper (like hopsin or macklemore or joyner lucas.. who would totally do some of these songs)... it would have been a complete mess

Now for some reason I want to hear Macklemore make a track-by-track cover album of it 😂. We Cry Together feat Skylar Gray??

legit one statement i heard in a discord chat was that auntie diaries is just same love for trans people and i cant stop seeing it.. hence i mentioned Macklemore and not say... logic
i need to give a CW to the 2nd disc of Mr morale and the big steppers... i dunno if in deeper listens it will mean a lot more about this message about modern culture.. since it seems very complicated.. but it certainly did trigger a friend i had who was really hurt especially around auntie diaries
KODAK BLACK, GHOSTFACE KILLAH, AND PORTISHEAD ON THIS KDOT ALBUM

im surprised with a lot of kodak (including some interludes) on this... kodak is still controversial so its weird but kdot also endorsed xxxtentacion before his death so its kinda weird

also taylour paige doing a verse that sounds like they wanted rico nasty but she didn't arrive so they got a soundalike.. weird since it really does sound like rico (plus some lyrics that are really kinda... oof)
