we've been craving that next SZA album for so long she just casually drops a deluxe edition of her last album while we wait (awesome to see 2AM on streaming though)
i feel bad for originally saying negative stuff about aquemini because when i did first listen to it i was going through the rap music flowchart and it was right after good kid maad city... i just wanted something as anthemic and powerful as m.A.A.d city and aquemini was never that heavy
there is a frustrating thing happening where i remember a song.. one i liked, that but im only really remembering one vocal line (not even the lyrics, just the vocal performance)... so despite wanting to hear it again i literally dont know what it was or where to find it (its... a fun experience.. i know it was a rap song and it had one semi distorted moment of someone saying something like "voila")
Btw Im totally buying tickets to music midtown tomorrow (or the day after because I'll be driving for 9 hours), MCR, Denzel Curry, mitski, and 100 gecs are worth it
i kinda wonder if i should get a speaker setup.. i dont have a lot of room (they might be forced onto the floor).. but my family say they dont hear much of the the noise.. it probably will help me listen to more vinyl compared to these headphones which are more... limiting
one of the few statements i'll make about kendrick before i've given it a few more listens to get all the details...
if this was from a worse rapper (like hopsin or macklemore or joyner lucas.. who would totally do some of these songs)... it would have been a complete mess
i need to give a CW to the 2nd disc of Mr morale and the big steppers... i dunno if in deeper listens it will mean a lot more about this message about modern culture.. since it seems very complicated.. but it certainly did trigger a friend i had who was really hurt especially around auntie diaries
