I don't use the dry cycle either. After a wash I give a wipe with a damp microfiber and then a couple turns each side on my old Record Doctor. Another wipe with a dry micro then placed in a rack. Rack holds 10, when that's full records are sleeved/stored. Works for me
It's not super loose, parts are plastic after all so they give some if I push too hard (power connector is a bit snug). It's possible I did something when replacing the PCB last year, don't remember it being an issue before that. Works fine though. If it ain't broke...
With mine the power connection (on the unit) has a little give when connecting, in other words it feels like it isn't secured tightly to the machine. Pushing the connector in too hard seems to move it some resulting in loss of connection.
Not saying it's the answer, but pull the plug back from the machine just a touch, see if that helps. If I push mine in too far it doesn't connect properly, gets no power. Pulling back just a bit works just fine.
I preheat with VF in pouch for 30 minutes. Leave in pouch during cool down; if I'm around I'll open the pouch but leave record in VF until cool to the touch, otherwise I just let it be.
