2+ years in, Covid finally hit the household. Wife must have brought it home from kids at her school. Luckily we are as boosted as we can be, and she's the only positive in the house so far. Mild symptoms too.
Caught the touring production of Hadestown last night. Absolutely incredible performances all around. Choreography, Staging, Music, Lighting - all top notch.
Extra bonus of starting my move to Apple Music. The Dead Man Walking soundtrack is there, and it's not on Spotify. Includes this fantastic track with Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan & Eddie Vedder, if you are into that sort of thing...
Shout out to Royal Potato Family records and their great customer service. I ordered Holly Bowling, got the wrong records in my shipment. Responded to my email in minutes, are shipping the Holly Bowling out tomorrow, and said to keep the other two they sent (Garage A Trois and Nolatet). So I have some unexpected new spins this weekend.
On a whim, I looked up Bob Dylan ~Christmas in the Heart on Discogs. I think $150 is a little more than I'm willing to spend on something to torture my family with.
Was surprised that we had no "Squid Games" halloween costumes at the door last night. Given the hype, I was expecting it to be the costume of the season. Kids mostly stayed with the classics. Skeletons, Witches, Dinosaurs, Princesses, Half-Assed Teenage Costumes, etc.
I'll admit that Steve Burns video of him finally addressing his abrupt exit from Blue's Clues made me a little misty. My 24 year old daughter and I still do the Mail song when I drop off her mail. That being said, it also reminds me that he didn't go to college, but hung out with the Flaming Lips and released an excellent album - Songs for Dustmites - and even did a small tour that I went to see.
