The Apples in Stereo are a beautiful and glorious band. They might not be as psychedelic as the Olivia Tremor Control or as outsider out there as Neutral Milk Hotel but neither of those bands would exist without the Apples and they wrote some beautiful heartbreaking songs.
More Modest Mouse: the double LP Lonesome Crowded West having "Baby Blue Sedan" on it is GREAT, but moving "Lounge (Closing Time)" in between the pretty perfect final one-two of "Bankrupt on Selling" and "Styrofoam Boots" is weirding me out -
