  • I hate when an album arrives with a dish warp but it doesn't affect how it plays, so I spend way too long trying to decide whether it's worth contacting the label for a new one or not...

I hear ya. Generally, if it doesn't affect play and isn't moving my tone arm too dramatically, I let it go and move on. There are exceptions to this, though, depending on how much sentimental value I have attached to said album. If it was one of my favorite artists or albums? Unacceptable. If it is a new grab or album I want to own, but not in my top tier? I am probably letting it slide.

Invest in a Michel clamp (which you should own anyway) and those minor dish warps vanish on the platter.
So, what outer sleeves do you guys recommend? A lot of my stuff is gatefolds and 2x or 3x LPs, so big is good.

@Joe Mac I was actually going to add those as samples on my next order to give them a try.

They’re really good! There is a bit of a trick sometimes, if the album is really think slide it in sideways, leave it in for 10-15mins and it opens the sleeve up and it should then fit in the normal way around!

I ordered a pack of the 2.5s and samples of the 5.0 and oversize 5.0 to try out, so I'll know what I want going forward. I've been doing inner sleeves until now, but a few albums that came with nice outer sleeves made me start thinking...
Just had to rearrange things to take up a third cube in my kallax...

You’ll be fine. In no time you’ll be rearranging things to take up a third kallax.
