Bandbox: an uncompensated review of an interesting new club

I emailed Partisan Records after seeing the Fontaines DC albums on Rough Trade... they pressed the records, delivered them, never got paid, and the stock got auctioned off during bankruptcy and they got screwed too. So while they exist, doesn't look like we'll be getting them without paying again.

Yep. Same with The Used I believe.

We return with a most exciting update. Word on the street is the legal details of Bandbox's receivership have been sorted and it’s time to ship records. A great organization called VinylClub is handling everything.

Woohoo!

But to confirm that you are truly who we say you are — that it was indeed your impeccable taste underlying the purchase of this rare 180g maroon splatter pressing of our Of the Blue Colour of the Sky album — you must CLICK HERE. VinylClub will ask for your order number, current shipping address, and some other info to verify the purchase.

Some of you submitted chargeback disputes with your credit card companies earlier in this Bandbox fiasco and hopefully you got your money back. If that’s you, you will not also be receiving a record. If you want back in on this fraught but extraordinary journey, per track 3, All Is Not Lost. There will be some copies leftover, and you will get first dibs on what's available.

Once all of you original non-refunded folks have your records, and all of you refunded folks have had your chance to get a copy, if there are any records left VinylClub will offer them to the rest of the world.

The forensics on the fan zine continue. Stay tuned for more info there.

Thank you all for your patience and support.

Just give me Luna dammit!

I did a chargeback on my last gift card purchase. I wonder if that will keep me from getting the records I ordered.

Most of my purchases were made using the gift card I received when they shifted from the subscription model (and I still had some of it left) but I got greedy trying to game the system at the end.

I’d assume they may not send them to you if you did a chargeback. But who knows
