lol. Same for me, please. Nathan and Pharoah I’ll buy from anyone

Anyone sleeping over at their local tonight? Any funny stories from.past years of sleeping outside overnight?

I drove to Nashville pre-dawn several years ago to wait in line at Third Man. It was a long line and I wanted their first liquid filled record (then, it was cool). It was raining and bitter windy cold. After many many hours of this, I finally enter their building and see the liquid LP on the wall, but they sold out 2 people ahead of me. The guy and his dog ahead of us had driven there from Texas and I'll never forget the look on his bulldog's face when they didn't get the LP either. I felt his pain.

Good year not to have any must haves, it’s a really deep list and my local already apparently has six people or more outside - usually it’s 0 or 1 by now. It’ll be super interesting to see what the grouping is like.

My local posted what they have and, for the first time ever, how many. No Sun Ra, as expected. The biggest surprise was that they've yet to receive their Taylor Swift and Killers/Springsteen releases!

Depending on the kids, I might pop in later in the morning to see if any of the Monk or Pharoah survived the initial wave.

If anybody sees both Sun Ra releases and would be willing to grab and ship them my way, I'd be super stoked. Otherwise I'll be searching for leftovers on Sunday and hoping I can find both in one place to minimize the shipping.

Based on Canadian prices it looks like it should be about $110 US for both. I'd like to keep it to $125 or less, pre-shipping, if I could.

If someone stumbles across the K. Frimpong & His Cubano Fiestas s/t and/or Marty Stuart's "Space Junk", I would appreciate your kind assistance and will pay you back promptly for said LP and shipping within the US. Thanks!

@avecigrec @Biscuit

i got you both

Curious RSD question- What was the last RSD release you remember that you were unable to get at (or near) cost in person, online, on Discogs, on Reddit, or on here?

A year or two ago I couldn't get the Death Cab live album. But it's few and far between. Numbers do look a little more conservative on a few releases this year.

Year of? Nothing I can recall. But if I really want something I will get there early enough to get it. Years after release a few things come to mind.

I've got work in the morning so I'm rolling the dice on Gorillaz being available online Sunday. 6500 copies I'm not worried. I'm assuming plaidroom or comeback will have a few left over as long as I'm on it Sunday morning

Death Cab, Tesla, and Better Than Ezra from last year. Then, The National Boxer Live from years back is what I can remember right now. Anything else probably had another reissue later on.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind soundtrack four years ago. couldn't find it anywhere, decided against getting it for something like 90CAD on Discogs, the cheapest copy is 400 now. and by the way, it was advertised as RSD First, so go figure

Showed up at my usual local at 3:30 am and it looked like a goddamn homeless encampment. People must’ve started staking out spots around 8 pm the night before, just dozens of people sleeping in beach chairs with the line stretched around the block. Jfc

Went to my second store of choice and despite showing up a half hour later I’m maybe about 12th in line or so. I’ll take it.

My top priority is Pharoah Sanders, with Nathan Davis and maybe the BBNG Brazilian singles set also being targets. The wife is asking me to keep an eye out for Spillage Village. Gonna be honest this is actually a pretty decent RSD lineup this year after being disappointed for the past two years or so.
