My local (well, my favorite local that is actually 30 mins away) is doing all sorts of fun for RSD. I haven't been in a while since my TT has been unplugged for the year. But I wanna support the dude because he deserves it. Do I take a stupid early bus to go drop money on records I won't be able to listen to for a while?

My shop isn't getting that one either. It was on my early list, but can't go crazy this year so it's out.

Do you think getting to my store at 2:30 am would suffice this year? I am REALLY worried about the zevon box.

You’d know better than us. Every shop is different. Personally I don’t think at this stage Zevon has a fanatical fan base but if your shop is small or only getting one box then who knows. I could probably get in line at 8 AM and would likely secure most of what is on my list for this year but I enjoy the ritual of hanging out with a bunch of weirdos waiting to buy records so I will show up between 2 and 3 AM.

RT and Newbury are often the most expensive shops for RSD (and in genera)

I'm thinking of picking up 10 or so records, and I bet I could save $50 to $75 easily if I went to Bull Moose rather than shopping local in town. But I need to support my local record store =)

RSD Advice Ask:

I could go to an established store I've been to for a bunch of RSDs which will have a really long line, but I know they have copies of the The Verve (my #1), and do the super early thing. Or, I could go to a new store participating for the first time that's closer to me, which doesn't have The Verve, but has other titles I'm interested in.

Factor in the fact that I haven't seen/read a lot of demand for The Verve record threads/forums I follow, so I'm thinking I could get it Sunday morning online.

Thoughts?

Miller High Life releases this year's most unusual Record Store Day vinyl

On Thursday, April 10 - two days before Record Store Day - Miller High Life opens pre-orders for its 'Dive Bar Sounds' LP, which claimed to be the first-ever record ever pressed on vinyl infused with The Champagne of Beers.

I had it pulled up but forgot about it and the first drop was sold out by 11:15 AM CDT. Looks like there are a few more drops so maybe I will pay closer attention then.
