TLOU Part I playthrough update:
they killed my horsey
In the realm of deaths in that universe....you'll get over it.

Speaking of which....I finished a play through of TLOU2 yesterday. I agree @Mather I never want to play it again.

And it's not for the BIG death...I already knew about it going in. And the only reason I'm not spoiling it - against my better judgment on a 5 year old game - is for those watching the show (also a good episode though).

I am not a survival horror aficionado and the game was anxiety inducing. The game is pretty good about telling you when you're entering combat through music and comments from the character or companions and when all enemies are cleared. However, I still found myself using listening mode and crouching through a majority of the game. Abby's mission from The Descent through Ground Zero....fuck those levels (they were good, but...fuck them). Speaking of fuck...FUCK STALKERS! I hated them in TLOU1 and they still suck in 2.

Overall though fantastic game. I think it eclipsed the first game. It is so huge in the story it tells flipping between Ellie and Abby.

I don't feel betrayed by the choices made by Naughty Dog and I actually like the idea of no one being safe in a story. I think all the Abby hate is stupid and by the end I was much more sympathetic to her. I think Abby was much better suited for the world and level-headed in her choices than Ellie. Abby was driven by circumstance and Ellie by blind rage and revenge. In fact, Abby in her initial act had one goal and "executed" it while minimizing collateral. Ellie (and Joel) go scorched earth. I read someone write that what TLOU2 shows you is that the (anti?)hero in one person's story/perspective is the villain in another's.

100% recommend. Once. Unless you're one of the sickos I see on YT playing Ground + permadeath and just destroying the game.

Jumped back into Diablo 4. For some reason my character got boosted up to level 50, possibly because I hadn’t played it in a long while. Still at the early stages, and I’m clearing dungeons and side quests. I feel pretty overpowered at the moment - I can get through pretty much all fights without an issue. Might advance the story further to see if that ups the challenge.

I'm wondering if my best bet for a Switch 2 will be going into GameStop to pre-order one when they open at 11:00am instead of hoping online pre-orders didn't sell out by the time I wake up as I'm not wanting to be up at midnight for a pre-order.
Well, just found out I might not be able to get out to GameStop tomorrow. My road will be closed for paving tomorrow. I had a doctor's appointment this morning and my road was closed to through traffic for milling. Not when I left, but when I was trying to get back home. No advanced notice, no signage. I'm hoping by living on the street I might be able to sneak in and out still tomorrow, but wondering if it's better to just not chance it and try to order online first.

I still have PTSD about the last time my road was closed a couple years ago for utility work. The cop on one end wouldn't let me through and told me I'd have to access the road from the other end. And then when I tried to access the road from the other end (which was blocked off do to a different construction project on the main road (not my road) the cop there was just kept waving me to keep driving straight and that I can't turn here. Then yelled at me when I attempted to turn anyways and didn't want to hear it form me about the other cop telling me I had to access my road form this end. He was just going off about not following his directions.

I should jump back into that game as well. I only played the launch season. Do you need to pay for new seasons? Or the paid expressions something else?

First reviews I've seen of Clair Obscur look really positive. Might have to be the next play after I get bored of Two Point Museum.

Beat TLOU (again, on an easier difficulty). Will go back to MH Wilds for a bit before tackling Left Behind and then not sure if I'll tackle a big game or try to get a few more smol ones before Switch 2 comes out

If anyone jumps on the Oblivion Remaster/Remake lemme know how it is.

For some reason my brain was stuck on thinking it was Morrowind and I didn't get far in Morrowind so I was lukewarm, but today suddenly it clicked it was Oblivion which I did actually get into and enjoyed (but do remember it being somewhat samey after awhile).

Should I expect 50 to 100 people lined up a couple hours before the doors open at my local game stop for the switch to pre-orders similar to the PlayStation five drops 4 to 5 years ago or do you think it’ll be good showing up a half hour before they open?

I'm seeing a lot of online backlash about the 450 price being a good chunk higher than the 1's 300 launch price. Maybe it's just me, but enthusiasm feels much lower this time around.

To be fair, online backlash also thought the Switch was overpriced at $299. It doesn’t really matter that much.

Early preorder interest in other markets is pointing to potentially the biggest console launch of all time.
