TLOU Part I playthrough update:
they killed my horsey
In the realm of deaths in that universe....you'll get over it.

Speaking of which....I finished a play through of TLOU2 yesterday. I agree @Mather I never want to play it again.

And it's not for the BIG death...I already knew about it going in. And the only reason I'm not spoiling it - against my better judgment on a 5 year old game - is for those watching the show (also a good episode though).

I am not a survival horror aficionado and the game was anxiety inducing. The game is pretty good about telling you when you're entering combat through music and comments from the character or companions and when all enemies are cleared. However, I still found myself using listening mode and crouching through a majority of the game. Abby's mission from The Descent through Ground Zero....fuck those levels (they were good, but...fuck them). Speaking of fuck...FUCK STALKERS! I hated them in TLOU1 and they still suck in 2.

Overall though fantastic game. I think it eclipsed the first game. It is so huge in the story it tells flipping between Ellie and Abby.

I don't feel betrayed by the choices made by Naughty Dog and I actually like the idea of no one being safe in a story. I think all the Abby hate is stupid and by the end I was much more sympathetic to her. I think Abby was much better suited for the world and level-headed in her choices than Ellie. Abby was driven by circumstance and Ellie by blind rage and revenge. In fact, Abby in her initial act had one goal and "executed" it while minimizing collateral. Ellie (and Joel) go scorched earth. I read someone write that what TLOU2 shows you is that the (anti?)hero in one person's story/perspective is the villain in another's.

100% recommend. Once. Unless you're one of the sickos I see on YT playing Ground + permadeath and just destroying the game.

Jumped back into Diablo 4. For some reason my character got boosted up to level 50, possibly because I hadn’t played it in a long while. Still at the early stages, and I’m clearing dungeons and side quests. I feel pretty overpowered at the moment - I can get through pretty much all fights without an issue. Might advance the story further to see if that ups the challenge.
