Yeah, definitely check out HTATM, it is more similar to Jackie than the previous album if that's what you mean. Highly recommended. 4 is a big dud for me on the EP as well so I think I will pass on it.

@dhodo will listen to it today... i also liked their very emotional ambient track limerance.. but like the hype for safe in the hands of love wasn't really that powerful or fun (compared to again limerence where they described the feeling of a couple that is growing more apart each second amazingly).

basically I expected rifts but got age of if you want a comparison to OPN (which is fitting for them since I put them in the same field of OPN and james ferraro).. hopefully HTATM is more of a Garden of Delete

with how bad the vinyl wait list, the price increase, FOMO culture, shortages, etc... is this the worst time its been to be into vinyl since the dark ages? what do we do

I’ve been feeling the same way, @duke86fan ... At least back in 2009 you could still get deals on used vinyl and new vinyl didn’t cost as much. I suppose audiophiles with a big budget are happier today. Personally I got into this hobby 20 years ago in part because it was affordable and fun; nowadays, it is neither.

I'm with @Yer Ol' Uncle D , with the addition of "Quality over Quantity". It's nice to get those "special" pressings, but I don't make it the only pressing I want..........a nicely pressed good ole black vinyl works just fine. And for what it's worth, I still shake my head when a 25-30 year old pressing sounds better than most new one. The hobby is fine for those looking for it ;)
i had no idea that the XXL freshman list was out for like 3 weeks (but it says something when no one covered it)... but that just tells me how lackluster it is.. sure flo milli, 42 dugg, and maybe even poo shisty are nice but rubi rose? toosi? who the hell is DDG and how was he the most voted?
going to shaky knees in october.. the ones i know i'm seeing as black midi, RTJ, phoebe bridgers, bartees strange, st vincent, and cloud nothings for sure
i wish the membership/store credit difference didn't exist... if i am a member of the subscription i probably just want to spend that money and if i joined a track or the sub i would probably want to have it payed for by membership, use credits for both... is just something about shopify or something?

I guess I'm in the Ur fav is problematic group with Uzi... I still listen to morally wrong artists especially since Spotify gives so little money, but I do not support attacking women
RIP to Biz Markie... one of the most wholesome and creative rappers of the late 80s early 90s
i feel old when i have to tell people that no vinyls it not a real term and we already had an easy name for the format called "records"

What I'm pointing out is the process by which vinyl records was shortened to vinyls is no different that the countification process that gave us countless mass nouns that are now used as countable objects, some of which are named after the material they were made of, like the examples above or the now less-common reference to "rubbers" to refer to erasers and condoms.

Whether or not I personally use "vinyls" or find it annoying is irrelevant to how languages change, and logic has almost nothing to do with how languages function. English just happens to be a language where mass nouns have a tendency to become countable- not all of them, of course, but enough to set a trend.

I don't think papers is a great analogy, as paper is still widely used as a plural for a collection of the same item, papers for individual documents. No one calls an 8 page paper "papers." But the teacher returns the whole class's papers.

BUT the point still stands. Vinyls sounds bad to my ears, but it is comprehensible and commonly used, so it's legit. Descriptive Grammar > Prescriptive Grammar.
i was only able to buy one thing in the juneteenth sale because it was getting out of stock but for some reason the shipping was 21 bucks despite being a US label.. i am contacting them about that
tfw you dunno which variant of an LP you got because you KNOW you got it sealed so its probably not an older pressing but it is exactly like an older pressing with the labels and stuff and no source of being a newer version
