Man, you guys weren’t kidding about the RSD prices. Picked up a couple of things, but not as many as I would have. I saw that Sweetheart of the Rodeo show live, so those memories will have to suffice.

Record Store Day 2024, UT Spring Game, and 4/20 all on one day. Seems like today has a little something to offer for just about everyone in Austin.
The bit where UK acts book a North American tour that basically takes them in a straight line across the country (with a slight detour to Canada) is getting old. I mean, I understand they can’t hit every major city in the states, and the costs of touring are a major factor, but still…
New track from the forthcoming LP from Austin shoegaze outfit Blushing. Really looking forward to this album.
Eclipse was cool and all, but, honestly, I hope I don’t hear the word “Totality” for at least another 20 years.
Just back from catching the album release show for Alejandro Escovedo’s “Echo Dancing”, which is out today. I haven’t seen Al live in about 5 years. Different sound for this record, but his touring band is terrific.
Definitely digging the industrial pop-rock sound of these pre-release tracks off the forthcoming St. Vincent album.
Hard to believe the first quarter of 2024 is almost in the books. I think Waxahatchee is the leader in the clubhouse for me so far, but the year is still (kinda) early. St. Vincent is lurking on the horizon. My top 5 so far are probably all from female artists. J Mascis might sneak in there.
This new JAMC album is….umm, not what I was expecting. I will give the Brothers Reid credit for trying some different things, but this one is kind of an odd listen.
This was always my favorite week of the year when I was younger. SXSW, Spring Break, St. Patrick’s Day, & the start of the NCAA Tournament. Two decades on, I avoid South By like the plague & they haven’t even started the tournament yet. Bah Humbug!

Air’s “Moon Safari” is the perfect music pairing for today’s weather in Central Texas.
First single from the forthcoming Wonder Women of Country album. The group consists of Kelly Willis, Melissa Carper & Brennen Leigh, a trio that has been touring together for a year or so. This Kelly fronted tune is a classic country weeper.
If these first two pre-release tracks are any indication, this forthcoming Waxahatchee album is going to be killer.
“Harlem River Blues” is kind of a perfect Sunday morning album for me.
RIP Wayne Kramer. He was a guest at an Alejandro Escovedo show in Austin a few years ago, and it was so cool seeing him play. He was having a blast.
Loved every second of that ‘We Are The World’ documentary on Netflix. -
