..but that’s also equally throwing your vote away, just doing to so in a manner that makes you feel better but is just as useless, instead of being an active participant in the party that can actually effect change.
@DJSJ the higher percentage of votes a party gets, the more money the party receives from my state. It's the opposite of throwing it away. It would actively help a party that might not do active harm to people like me.
@DJSJ like i said, whether I vote for Harris or not she is winning my state. Me voting for the dem presidential candidate will literally not make a difference in the slightest. Viva electoral college.
I’m not trying to both sides anything. The reality is everyone is at each others throat. Unless I’m mistaken we are all on the same side here. We all think Trump winning this election will probably be the end of the republic. But we can’t even talk to each other with out cursing and getting mad and basically treating each other like they are idiots.
How are we possibly gonna persuade anyone about our arguments and platforms when we treat each other that way? Imagine how someone who thinks differently than you must feel when you turn that on them.
@Nee Lewman we can’t talk to eachother because the other side has decided their through with democracy, done with racial tolerance, done with immigration, and wish me and my queer and trans friends/family dead. I’m struggling to understand why you think that’s something worth respecting enough to give a dialogue.
My point is we don’t actually have a discourse anymore. We just shout at the other side and tell them they are wrong. I’ve known plenty of Republicans who are good people and don’t hate anyone and are sad at the current state of their party. Our leaders right now, honestly are a reflection of us. Until we start treating each other better….
And telling me it’s white guy cis privilege doesn’t help. Especially since you are speaking to the choir. I try to keep my privilege in check. So again when you throw that at my feet… you’re not gonna get anywhere with what you want.
@Nee Lewman My entire life the Republican Party has been working tooth and nail to take away my basic human rights, but please go on about how they’re such good people.
Yeah your entire dialogue has come across as incredibly privileged, classic “I don’t have skin in the game so I can try and take the high ground” bullshit.
There are no good republicans, haven’t been since Reagan at least.
I’m gonna exit now because I’m not gonna do any good here but we can’t have an honest discussion if you are going to be skeptical of everything I say and down talk to me about my life and experiences. Beyond being a white guy who is straight who collects records you know very little about me.
@Nee Lewman Good people who also happen to fully support horrible people. Makes sense../s
Nothing your saying makes sense and comes from a place of privledge, ignoring how cartoonishly evil one side is in attempt to play the “why can’t we all be friends?” card
Yeah, we can’t have a discussion like that, really thought better of you man.
Choosing not to endorse one candidate because of that candidate's very obvious and public failings and shortcomings doesn't mean she's going to vote for Trump. Harris is not owed an endorsement from anybody by virtue of being the lesser evil. If you think she is, your democracy is already dead.
