Le Son LS-10 Mk II Moving Coil Cartridge Review

No worries. I wasn’t feeling judged at all. Indeed, I could have done all of this without saying a word here. I’m comfortable with people knowing about it.

I have ~15 muse titles. Favs of that group are Woody Shaw - Moontrane and Joe Chambers - Almoravid. Happy to have plenty of room for further exploration.

I’m confused bc I wasn’t even addressing you bc I thought you just bought records to look at the dead wax. I assumed you didn’t even play them!

Equipment Recommendations - The Home For New System and Upgrade Advice

Unrelated except for Zu. A friend recently auditioned at his house Zu Dirty Weekend, Buchardt S400 mk2, and Mofi Sourcepoint 8 to go w his new Naim integrated (can’t remember Naim model but cost like $3k-ish). He ended up w the Sourcepoint 8 for its all-around merits (everything sounded good...

So you’re saying he has a ridiculously huge ego? That’s really hard to tell from his posts on SHF forum. He seems so humble when writing about himself. :poop:

Ethan Iverson’s blog newsletter today linked to this newly posted video of a 1971 Berlin concert by Ornette Coleman, Dewey Redman, Ed Blackwell, and Charlie Haden. Sound and video quality are all very good. He’s a huge fan of this group.

Saw the Like a Virgin tour bc she was h-o-t (to teen, hormone-bursting me) and killer pop music. Beasties opened, still effectively in their punk days, and they were comically bad. They acknowledge being comically bad (and hammered) on that tour.

You could also add in some anti-moisture packets (the ones with pellets inside) or something like that

By my estimation after spending too much time on discogs and various forums, a 1% increase in sound quality of a reissue over a previous issue means that the reissue “blows away” previous presses. Pull the trigger!

For the record, you only need to say “means.” Adding “literally” is unnecessary. :p

MoFi UltraDeck / StudioDeck Owners and those interested

What are you guys using to measure this? I have the iphone app that can measure, but it strikes me that it wouldn’t be 100% precise for a couple potential reasons — software perfection or not; hardware perfection or not (the gyroscope in the phone); user variance (placement of the phone on the tt)

My recollection without looking is that, if you search my old posts in the Mofi Studiodeck/Ultradeck forum, you’ll see I had the Fluance with the upgraded platter and upgraded cart (to OM20, so not a huge jump). You’ll also see what I thought of that transition. I really liked the Fluance and...

    Concert/Gig Posters! It's Back!

Which PDX shop is the one that’s reasonably priced (where you saw Emek)? I’ve used Jason from Po’ Boy Art for most of mine that needed framing (and he framed most of mine generally bc most of my collection comes from his annual “Art of Musical Maintenance” shows at The Goodfoot, and he framed...

Any of the three Jamal RSD sets at $20 is a steal (assuming you like Jamal to begin with, of course). I paid more for each of them and have no regrets (although I’d much rather have paid 60% less)

He has the look of someone thinking … “I’m gonna tear a hole through time and space on this record.” And he did. That’s a killer item, even if pricey
