My mind was just wandering along that same path, like I just got a record in the mail (Wednesday's "Twin Plagues"), and I'm kind of on a tight budget for the next week, but I keep thinking "should I grab Pulp's 'Different Class' from my local, and should I also pick up something random while I'm...
Mudhoney - Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge
Finally an album that I don't think I know at all.
Yesterday's was The Rolling Stones "Aftermath." I've always found the Stones kind of boring (sacrilege, I know.) Jagger doesn't have the type of voice I like in a non-melodic style, and it all seems so...
The last two days for me have been albums which I love, but I know all to well: Soundgarden's Superunknown and Janelle Monae's The Archandroid.
Here's hoping tomorrow brings an album that I don't know at all. Even with the Adele album I had I already knew several songs because they were huge hits.
I remember talking to my local, and they told me that the last Taylor Swift album held up shipments of everything until the night before or morning of release. Not quite clogging up the pressing plants level, but still... that's some power.
"Power is power" - Cersei Lannister (heart eyes forever)
Today's is Adele's "21." Can't say I've ever listened to an entire Adele album, so this will be pretty new for me.
So far the overplayed hits feel totally different in context of an album.
I got Television - Marquee Moon today, which 1) I've listened to before and 2) I always feel like I should like it more than I do.
Guitar work has some moments, but I can't do a whole album of Verlaine's singing. Overall it leaves me a bit bored, though I can see how it's influential.
I just discovered them yesterday through a Stereogum article on modern shoegaze. I listened through Twin Plagues, which was way less country than this song, so I need to give this one a few more listens.
Whoa! As much as I've heard Perry has gone downhill as a vocalist/performer, he was a massive influence on me when I started singing as a teenager. I'm going to have to remember that sale date.
It's been open for a while, but my favorite Tucson record store, Wooden Tooth, opened a second location on Congress. On my off Fridays, I usually wander between the two stores shopping, haha.
I'm convinced to gives this 1001 album thing a try.
First up, an album I'm familiar with, having listened to it a decent amount before:
Not one of my favorite Bowie albums, kind of blends in with his other late period work (besides Blackstar, which is one of his best, IMO). "Valentine's Day"...
I douse my eggs in scorpion pepper mash, frankly. Sriracha is quite yummy on them, too, as are most hot sauces to me. Of course, I look at a lot of savory food as a vehicle for hot sauce.
