I've heard a lot of good things about this head shell

Goldring 1042 [MM], Grado Sonata3 [MI], Hana SL [MC] If you can go Low Output on the Grado and Hana I'd recommend it, the Hana is/was my favorite, just depends on personal preferences ;)

Well, that's good news for me then, I'll be happy as a clam with the AT ;)

Never say never, but if a mono cart was going on the G, it would have been the Hana for a straight swap.

My two go to carts after a lot of experimenting have ended up being Grado and Hana, and honestly my first reaction, to the point of having it in the cart was the Hana SL Mono. But, I decided to let the choice simmer a bit, and I think the biggest reason I keep going back to the AT is the price...

I'm enjoying that combo, although the Chinook is only 4 tubes ;)

I keep coming back to the AT as I look into other carts, for a couple reasons, pretty solid experiences from others, the conical stylus and the price of entry for a setup that's going to take up about 30-40 of my listening time.

Way back in the day I was a big "matched separates" kind of guy, but over the years it's like, there are too many great companies making very cool gear to put all your equipment eggs in one basket and not try new things ;)

Just from an esthetic standpoint, taking nothing away from the sound quality, am I alone in not liking the look of MAC gear? I'll say the 75th Anniv. Hybrid SS/Tube amp has a certain vibe, but none of it really grabs me. I know, I know, 🤯😧🤯😧

This is my "short" list so far: Audio Technica AT33MONO - $300 Grado Platinum 3 [Mono] - $400 Ortofon 2M Mono - $425 Hana SL [Mono] - $600 The AT and Hana are under the minimum cart weight for this arm [7-11g]. The AT at 6.9, negligible, and the Hana at 5g.

The new mono deck doesn't have a removable head shell ;)

This was my initial choice and it may stick in the long run, it's just a little light based on documentation (listed as 5g) but, my current SL came in at at 5.5ish g, so maybe some different hardware would get me over the hump.

First things first, I'm not rubbing it in @Mather ;) HumminGuru dropping over the weekend, and I've got albums lined up :)
