Damn, some great stuff missing from that old forum list. Sorry, I'll stop spamming.
I was late to the party. That was the first album that really hooked me on Thee Oh Sees. Love it.Mutilator Defeated At Last blew my mind during that first listen. “Lupine Ossuary” is out of this world.
Oh, I think I heard the album late 2017, like October or November. Found them through Gizz who I got into around Sketches of Brunswick East.I was late to the party. That was the first album that really hooked me on Thee Oh Sees. Love it.
A tremendous year in music! I had to put Carly Rae Jepsen in there because there are some stunning pop tracks in there, such as E•MO•TION, Run Away With Me, Let's Got Lost, All That & Boy Problems, which all have really captivating lyrics. Carly Rae Jepsen and Travis Scott's albums have aged really well already and are two records I feel have a timeless/classic feel to them, even though there are a few tracks from both "E•MO•TION" and "Rodeo" I dislike. Jamie xx sneaked into the top 10 for having the best track of the year - I Know There's Gonna Be (Good Times)!
1. Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly
2. Kamasi Washington - The Epic
3. Tame Impala - Currents
4. Julia Holter - Have You In My Wildnerness
5. Neon Indian - Vega Into. Night School
6. Earl Sweatshirt - I Don't Like Shit, I Don't Go Outside
7. Clarence Clarity - No Now
8. Travis Scott - Rodeo
9. Carly Rae Jepsen - E•MO•TION
10. Jamie xx - In Colour
Honorable mentions
Grimes - Art Angels
Lianne La Havas - Blood
Vince Staples - Summertime '06
Jazmine Sullivan - Reality Show
Milo - So The Flies Don't Come
Well you know I love that glamourous, chic, angelic, heavenly, hypnotic, sensual, lush aesthetic! That's why Tame Impala also ranked high, because the album has those similar qualities also, but it's a psychedelic, disco pop-rock album instead!Just seeing Julia in your Top 5 fills me with joy.
This makes me giggle and laugh and go 'yaaaaaas' but also makes me 'awwwww so cute' ❤1. Carly Slay Legendsen - EMOTION
What album is it? I'm super keen to see what your top 10 list for 2015 is!My favourite album of that year isn’t even on that list!
