It sure must've sucked to have been a prog hater in '74 :P

'74 was pretty superb. One of my top 10 jazz records is from this year, too!
  1. Joe Henderson - The Elements
  2. Kraftwerk - Autobahn
  3. Tom Waits - The Heart of Saturday Night
  4. Tangerine Dream - Phaedra
  5. Funkadelic - Standing on the Verge of Getting It On
  6. Big Star - Radio City
  7. King Crimson - Red
  8. Herbie Hancock - Thrust
  9. Miles Davis - Get Up With It
  10. Camel - Mirage

Weakest year of the 70s imo. Lots dull prog. Even unimpeachable 70s Bowie released one of the albums I like the least out of his genius run of albums. 1 & 2 are stone cold classics though!

1. Joni Mitchell - Court & Spark
2. Neil Young - On The Beach
3. Van Morrison - Veedon Fleece
4. Bob Dylan & The Band - Planet Waves
5. Tom Waits - The Heart of Saturday Night
6. Richard and Linda Thompson - I Want To See The Bright Lights Tonight
7. The Rolling Stones - It’s Only Rock n Roll
8. David Bowie - Diamond Dogs
9. Stevie Wonder - Fulfillingness’ First Finale
10. Elton John - Caribou

Would've missed that Henderson/Coltrane album if I hadn't have seen your list. Didn't see it pop up on any of my prep digging for the spotify playlist I throw together in order to put together my list. We'll see if it makes my top 10 but it's definitely a great album.
