Ah yes, my bad, Heyday was '85... US release was '86...
If the objective answer to the Question, "What was 1986's Album of the Year?", is not Cinderella's Night Songs, then the answer is either Metallica's Master of Puppets or The Beastie Boys' Licence to Ill.
I love Queen is Dead, but I'd argue that if it is the #1 album of any year the world is a cold dead place. If it’s not the Queen is Dead then the world is indeed a cold dead place.

I'm actually really surprised there wasn't more love for Graceland this year. Thought this would be as close to a unanimous #1 as any year.
They are a great band, but cold and dead are two adjectives that fit their sound pretty spot on imo. They’re probably in my favourite 3 or 4 bands!
But maybe it’s so great because in the 80s under thatcher the north of England really was a cold dead place haha!
Same. It's a top 5 album of the decade to me.I'm actually really surprised there wasn't more love for Graceland this year. Thought this would be as close to a unanimous #1 as any year.
