That's pretty much what happened to me. I started watching it as something easy to unwind with. Then around the Phantom Troupe arc I became completely engrossed. Ended up surpassing my expectations for what kind of show it was going to be.

currently in my local movie theater about to watch One Piece: Stampede!!!

really excited for this one!! i liked the Gold film from a couple of years ago, and apparently stampede will be much better than gold. also pretty neat that one piece movies have been showed in us theaters in recent years
