Here's a demo VPI Cliffwood turntable with a Grado Green cartridge for only $788. I believe @HayesWeighsIn and his professional ears chose a Cliffwood over several decks including a MoFi StudioDeck.

Bear in mind there is no adjustable VTA on this deck, so you’re in MM land for sure, but it’s simple and has that robust VPI soundstage.
One thing I really dig about it is a locking counterweight, so if you have kids or pets, or you’re generally a fumbling idiot like myself, one less thing to worry about!
