Go on, geezer.
When it's time for a new cart for my UD, I am totally paying a professional to install it.

I ripped the tone arm wires on my Pro-ject trying to take the cart off because of my muscular fingers.
I am not risking it.

My first table was a Pro-Ject and I still have PTSD from dealing with those little cobweb wires. Those pro-ject wires are very very thin but doable even by fat fingers here with a bit of care.
Yea I broke my pro-ject ones. Glad to hear the UD is easier to change carts…My first table was a Pro-Ject and I still have PTSD from dealing with those little cobweb wires.
The UltraDeck has heftier wire with much beefier sleeves on the leads. It’s much, much easier to deal with if you’re not fortunate enough to have the hands of a watchmaker.
Guess it’s easier to just get a new table altogetherYea I broke my pro-ject ones. Glad to hear the UD is easier to change carts…
that's kinda what i did when i snapped the wires on my Pro-Ject...haha. but i was already planning on upgrading it soon.Guess it’s easier to just get a new table altogether
I’m gonna try the cart upgrade once, probably in a year or two. If that doesn’t pan out I’ll look to upgrade.that's kinda what i did when i snapped the wires on my Pro-Ject...haha. but i was already planning on upgrading it soon.
me when i snapped the wires but knew it just meant i'd buy a new TT sooner...I’m gonna try the cart upgrade once, probably in a year or two. If that doesn’t pan out I’ll look to upgrade.

Dusting on the other hand…The wires are thin but it’s definitely doable. I’m pretty useless and I’ve managed to do 7 or 8 cart changes now at this stage and never damaged them.
Those leads on the Pro-Ject are wildly thin. Never seen another table use those. The gauge on MoFi has to be like triple that!
The @Mather curse will get you and you will snap them dropping the needle later this evening. I assume I just resigned my table to being smashed by the guitar.I think the key is don’t ever touch wires themselves, only the plugs and I’ve found small plastic tweezers help too…
I’m totally breaking them when I mount the at in the new year now amn’t I….
