Tommy Page had opened for NKOTB on their 1989 tour and worked on that song with a few of the New Kids (Jordan, Danny & Donnie) so I’m guessing that association with them is why that song was such a big hit.HA! Sadly, the story ends badly for him (committed suicide in 2017 at 47).
I wasn’t aware of him at the time but I guess they pushing him hard but outside a couple singles his career never really took off.
