Bandbox: an uncompensated review of an interesting new club

At this rate, I will never spend my gift cards. As nice as they Always records look, I would never listen to them.
I'm in "this seems alright" territory. I think with the $20 off code and these being $20, I just went for it. Plus, I think part of me is just wanting to break up with Bandbox, but these gift cards just keep me around. Trying to spend them so I can finally say "It's not me, it's you."

Their curation to begin with was really strong and I am hoping some return to form at the some point, but a lot of the titles lately are more like this didn't need to be repressed. I want more stuff like The Hold Steady or Gregory Alan Isakov. I am also really starting to not just buy stuff to buy stuff anymore, but I get the notion of just wanting to be done too.

Why are they continually pressing new releases that have been out for months?
Yeah, this 6 months after release thing is not great. Wish they would do more catalog titles. Like I would be in for Challengers or some of the other later albums that haven’t been rereleased recently.

I mean, they're putting it up for sale 6 months after then shipping it 9 months (or more) after. Just weird.
It is very strange. I can't say I've understood anything about any of their business models. Maybe the first iteration of it made sense, but even then I doubt many were buying the whole discography of a band in one go.
