Best Music 🎵 of 2025!

That had more to do with the musical direction of the album than Aaron. His latest solo album was much better than the last Indications album.

I just really find his voice quite grating as a main vocalist. Ended up flogging his debut album. He’s fine at harmonies.

Yeah I agree that the musical direction of the last album was really disappointing but the amount of lead vocals he had was even more so.

Trying out something different this year. I picked up a few of these Field Notes Log Books to keep track of the albums I check out/enjoy in 2025. These seem very practical for getting down my thoughts and for ranking albums. Pretty excited to use these!

I tried this a few years ago but ima journal type book. This will serve much better. I picked up a couple to see if I like. Thanks!

Michelle from Japanese Breakfast spent last year in Korea learning the language and writing a book ... now that she's back stateside, she's diving straight back into her music.

Looks like a new song this week (and maybe an album + tour announcement?):

New song tomorrow:

Also, expect new album pre-orders tomorrow as well:

Well, I just finished my first new album listen of 2025 with Ethel Cain's new 89-minute EP, Perverts. Fans of her 2022 debut, Preacher's Daughter (my AOTY), and its poppier, more accessible vocal tracks will likely be hit with a curve ball on this one with the album's massive ambient/drone pieces. Perverts is unsettling, and I'm still wrapping my head around it all.. I'm going to have to revisit this one a few more times before I have a solid grasp on my thoughts. "Punish" is a 10/10 track, though, and "Amber Waves" is a beautifully dark closer. More to come..

Excellent. Very compelling. The slowcore closer is also stellar.
