Simply put, they don't top their first two albums and there's certainly a change of pace on the LP, more neo-soul and less plunderphonics (less of a kaleidoscope of sounds) but that said I like the overall vibe and concept behind the project. The exploration of death, the afterlife and everything celestial while utilizing samples of artists that have passed away. This new Avalanches album... is kinda of boring. A lot of the songs seems to be in the same BPM so it just kind of chugs a long. I honestly don't remember anything memorable from it. Whereas with Wildflower I instantly was hooked from the very first song.
