Best Music of 2021

Lucy Dacus is back with a new single "Thumbs", and holy shit is this thing dark and beautiful. It's personal, it's devastating, and it's empowering. I assume she will have a new album on the way, and if said potential album is anything like this track, then we will surely have a strong contender for AOTY!

I would swap the Very Good list with the Top Tier list.

I don't know that I would put LDR in the top tier category, maybe very good album but that's subjective, nevertheless you and I are about the only people on this forum who seem to have an appreciation for Chemtrails Over the Country Club 🤷‍♂️

I'm usually not caring much about record reviews, but I found out that many magazines also rank that album rather high. For instance NME, The Independent, Mojo, Rolling Stone, Pitchfork and others. So I don't really care what they think, but it feels kind of affirmative that you and me aren't the only ones enjoying that album. 🍻 So we can't be completely wrong.

I think it’s perhaps her best album,
(Way too early to make that claim though).
Loving the shorter length.
I’ve listened/spun my vinyl tons and it keeps growing with every listen.
It doesn’t have the highs of NFR! but I might like it better.

“Wild At Heart” is one of my favorite songs of 2021, if not my favorite. Although it really sounds like a sister song to “How To Disappear” musically.
