Alan Mann: Christmas On The Block

It seems every year a better copy of this video surfaces. And every time it brings tears from my eyes.

Based on a true story, early 1980s, Philadelphia and its suburbs. A blind family decorated their house/tree so beautifully yet they could not see the lights themselves. It was all for others.

My favorite Christmas album from the past decade or so has been A Very Kacey Christmas and while that album has several enchanting originals my favorite by far is “Ribbows And Bows”. It sounds timeless and feels like if had come out in a different era it would have become as ubiquitous as Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas is You”
